This item was just what we needed to replace the broken mechanism on an old clock. The attachment is not difficult except for two points. The large nut on the dial is difficult to tighten with pliers or a wrench as it is located just below the moving hands of the watch. This allows only hand tightening, leaving the attached mechanism slightly loose. But it still works. But even more frustrating is the tiny nut that has to be screwed over the watch hands to hold them in place. It is so tiny that it is almost impossible to mount it correctly on the threaded rod. Overall, despite the installation issues, this is a good product.
