BEST Blast for the Dollar!

I really can't praise this tripod head. I've bought four gimbal heads over the last few years - two were great, one was crap and one was overpriced for what you get. My first stabilizer was from another manufacturer just like this one and I was lucky enough to pick the right one because it was great but I don't remember the details to share. I also bought one for my girlfriend and it sucks - similar price, looked the same online but the quick release plate was crappy with imperfect mechanisms. A few years later I wanted to see what rich people were using so I bought a used Wimberly and was very disappointed. It was durable and good quality but no better than my little imitation - in fact it was heavier and I didn't like using it so I went back to Revain to see if I could find another good imitation - I ordered two and got lucky with it! Haven't taken it into the field yet but I set it up in my living room with a full frame DSLR and a Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 - the rig weighs about 9 pounds and it balances and turns beautifully! It's a little sticky in a few spots which will hopefully loosen up with use, but it's not enough to disturb birds in flight or other wildlife photography I take. And I would also trust the large prime number. My first non-brand stabilizer that I used with a 500mm prime had no problems. I'm hoping to get a Nikon 600mm prime lens in the next few years and see no reason why I shouldn't use this stabilizer to support it. In the world of photography, you usually get what you pay for and I've often found myself frustrated trying to save money, but that's not the case with this gimbal.
