It looks like this particular model just won't work after a while. First one button doesn't work, then others until it stops working. However, if you do take out insurance, it will cover the cost of replacing up to three of them during the life of the policy. The one we have now is the 5th or 6th in the last 14 years so it was a pleasant surprise to learn how product insurance works.
