iFilters Water Purifier with 0.5 Micron Filter

Pros: Price for a canister and a 0.5 micron Hydronix filter, an additional ten percent discount was very appreciated and influenced my purchase decision. Paid $85 for a MultiPure filter - excellent water flow both through an open faucet and down a drain. Even using a 0.5 micron filter for the best cleaning, the water pressure is impressive. The water line from the faucet to the canister is long enough to fit on the counter. - Very well packaged from the factory with plenty of bubble wrap - Didn't have to use the supplied hand wrench to tighten or remove the canister from the threaded base which can change over time - Bought milky white canister, didn't want a translucent decoration color and/or look Check out the filter - just personal preference - also bought an additional 0.5 and 5 micron filter, will experiment with both but think I'll use 0.5 regularly for peace of mind. Alligators and other creators swim in our local water source, the river. Cons: The unit dribbles a few drops out of the spout a little longer than I prefer after the water is turned off, longer than my original MultiPure unit, which may subside after the water is turned off. used for several days and the air pockets are removed from the canister. Other thoughts: - If your device has a little dripping where the water hose attaches to the bottom of the case, use pliers to gently twist the silver-textured collar a quarter turn to tighten the connection. , worked for me - obviously wasn't fully tightened from the factory. β€” As a precaution and to prevent the canister from leaking around the thread base, I put a layer of Teflon tape around the threads. This also contributes to the accumulation of limescale in the canister, which can be more easily removed at the next filter change. - Remember these are cold water filters only, DO NOT run hot water through them - Once installed, fill a 2-1/2 gallon bucket until water runs clean - All carbon filter deposits will be washed out - No need to To rinse for 10 minutes, I read somewhere. It is normal for the initial grey/black sediment to be washed away with new filters. Pour a bucket of water in your garden, nothing goes to waste.
