My husband gave me this board for Christmas two years ago. I have a few tips for new (or bad) owners.So.YOU are NOT oiling your board enough. When I got this board, I oiled it, then I oiled it again, then again before using it. It will be dry and one light coat of oil put on with a cloth will NOT be sufficient, and you will be one of the people complaining about cracking or warping.I put a lot of oil on and rub it in with my hands, making sure that there is a thick layer. Don't forget the sides and handles; work that oil in. Let it sit overnight and then check it out. If there are any dry spots, add more oil and rub it in again. I apply the board cream when it's obvious that the board is saturated with oil and no dry spots are visible. Give the board a light wipe to get rid of any pooled/leftover oil and then massage that board cream in.Look at the pictures I posted, it seems like a lot of oil, but the third pic, taken the next morning, you can clearly see that one board is lighter in color and dry. I added more oil to that spot and let it sit again. Then flip and do the other side, getting the edges and handles again, because why not! While you're at it, give any wooden utensils in your kitchen some lovin' too. I do this once a month now.I don't have any pads or feet on my board, it sits directly on my counter. I regularly use both sides to ensure even wear. "Air circulation" should not be an issue. Besides, if you have feet, HOW ARE YOU GETTING OIL TO THOSE AREAS!The board is comprised of multiple pieces of wood and will dry out in some areas faster than others. Make sure it gets evenly saturated with oil, or it will crack and warp.If you use soap (NOOOO!) then pretend you just got your board and start from scratch. Soap's job is to remove oil, so you just sucked the life out of your board. Now give it back.Did I mention to oil the board? :)
