Review on Mann Filter 35 154 Air Filter by Jeremy Flint

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for 2013 Volkswagen CC as OEM. Made in Germany. Very high quality.

Installation takes only a few MINUTES. Even when you're the busiest, hire the smartest person on the PLANET to install this thing. For a 2013 Volkswagen CC, a Torx screwdriver will suffice (Wiha offers a good set) - it only takes 10 minutes to unscrew the filter housing. You don't even have to disconnect the handset. The only confusing issue I had was that this filter had a small piece of what looked like cotton that was attached to the bottom while the original didn't. After a bit of research I've come to the conclusion that this is a snow guard that keeps snow chunks from melting on the filter. Since I'm installing the filter in the summer but will be using the filter in Ohio in the winter, I just left it on; no damage. In general, if you can loosen and tighten about 10 screws, you can 100% do it yourself. There are even videos online that will help. You can save money and make sure only the very best goes into your car - a lot of third party automakers put crappy "Made in China" filters on your car just to increase their bottom line, so I decided to give it a go to do yourself. As for reusable KHN filters, I would avoid at all costs. While they may initially seem "greener" since they can be reused, I prefer disposable filters as they have less risk of incorrectly filling the filter or improperly cleaning it. Can you imagine the environmental impact of replacing a mass airflow sensor because you mislubricated a reusable filter? All in all, I find Revain amazing when it allows you to live better and cheaper with the absolute HIGHEST quality elements. With this item, you can replace the filter for about $50 less, use a better filter, and take part in one of the easiest DIY projects you can do on your car.
