Sony 5 CD changer to stereo components

I bought this changer to replace a very good Harman Kardon 5 CD changer. I am very pleased with the sound quality, fit and finish, and ease of use of this changer. Set up was very easy as expected. At the moment I'm using an analogue connection, but I plan to switch to optical-digital once I have a suitable patch cord. I had a problem at the beginning of the work: when I loaded some CDs into the carousel, the carousel didn't work. close to the end and open again to the end. As a result, the changer could not read any of the inserted discs. I have found that if I remove other hardware from the top of the Sony changer, the problem goes away and the changer works properly. The cause of the problem was that the changer was placed under a heavy stack of components: a Harman Kardon AVR-745 that weighs about 45 pounds, a Samsung Blu-Ray player that weighs next to nothing, and a Scientific Atlanta 8350 HD cable box. with a VCR. As soon as I moved the Sony CD player over the heavy receiver, everything worked perfectly. Once again I am very satisfied with this CD player. It is very good value for money and I expect many years of service from it. I only gave it 4 stars because the chassis isn't stiff enough to fit on the bottom of a heavy stack. My situation (heavy stack) is probably unusual. One disturbing thing about the design of this CD changer is that there is no POWER button on its remote control. As a result, it is not possible to fully integrate this changer into an action-based remote control system (e.g. from Philips or Logitech). I am replacing this unit with another Sony model that has a POWER button on the remote control.
