Review on 🔧 Pedro A Bailey 799727 Carburetor - Improved for Briggs&Stratton 698620 14hp 15hp 16hp 17hp 18hp Intek Engines - Replaces 791886 698620 690194 by Philip Lindsey

I bought this product to replace the carburetor on my 15hp Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine (28U707-1112-E1) and I have to admit I was quite skeptical, if it would solve my problem. It took about 30 minutes and I already assumed there would be some minor issues after reading previous reviews of this particular brand and others like it here on Amazon. The first problem I encountered was a small tab sticking out on the throttle body. I cut it off with wire cutters, problem solved. Another issue I had was the choke sticking to the airbox as per other reviews so I took a pocket knife and shaved the plastic airbox a bit to give the choke a little more clearance. After solving these two minor issues, I finished the installation and attempted to start the engine. It started almost immediately, to my surprise, but ran a bit rough at first. I had some misfires and it was idling too high. So I fiddled with the idle screw and governor a bit and before I knew it it was running like a new engine again. After setting it up, I tried mowing my yard (over a full morning) just to test it out and see if I ran into any problems. Super mowed! I am very happy with this carburetor. Time will tell if it will hold up in the long run. But even if I have to replace it every few years or so, it's still way better than paying Briggs $150+ for their version of the same carburetor.
