Sliding Door Hardware Wrong Size

The description of this product was not clear enough. While the dimensions of the box were correct, the metal bar was not, so I bought one that was 1 inch shorter. This was supposed to be a replacement and I'm guessing the rod length listed was the part that came out of the box and into the hole, but that was the input rod length and only 1 inch comes out of the box. So I wasted my money and the cost of shipping and shipping was so high I didn't want to try and buy again which I thought was right. You must clearly indicate how far the pole protrudes from the box! This has to be flush with the ground to even work.
