I was hoping to use this martingale collar to get my GSD nervous. I put it on and took her for a walk. About half a block away, I adjusted the leash attached to the collar a little and it came loose and fell. My first impression was that I don't need to have secured it securely. I reattached it to her, making sure it was secure. started again. Corrected her a bit again, about halfway through the walk, and she came back. Luckily, she's trained well enough not to run away unless there are major distractions. I was able to reach her. This time I just attached the leash to her regular collar and hoped she wouldn't get distracted on the walk home. This would be a good collar but the latch will NOT stay secure. This is reversed with slight corrections. I cannot recommend this collar. I would have sent it back if I hadn't disposed of the packaging. I think I'll take a loss on the purchase price. I was lucky that my dog was brought up the same way as her. Without her, it could have been a tragedy.
