Review on ๐Ÿ“ Precision Non-Digital Stainless Steel Measuring Tools for Professionals by Robert Aliraqi

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Terrible caliper handling

This is a non-digital caliper; I've seen reviews of battery powered calipers on this list, but this isn't it. It's not the easiest thing because instead of reading directly from the display, you really have to do some math. I have found that people's reluctance to do mental arithmetic prevents them from "borrowing" my calipers. When I received the package, it was initially an empty box. I contacted Revain and a few days later they sent me another one with the caliper and case. ++ for Revain. The editing is terrible. Rough surfaces, sharp edges, nothing flat or straight as one would expect from a precision measuring device. I don't think you can expect much for โ‚ฌ20. I still trust it more than a cheap digital one. The graduation is not engraved on the metal. It looks like it's printed on a metal strip. Probably good enough to use as a hobby or rough review. I wouldn't rely on anything more accurate than 0.01. "Can't say I'm dissatisfied as it was a cheap caliper for work so I wouldn't beat my good German made one. Just don't expect to work with it with high precision/accuracy.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
