I have always used a PUR water filter. I always replace the entire filtration system after six years of use or when it has been upgraded. I got this new one after hearing part of the 1010 WINS report that drinking water is more polluted in the south. But the part that caught my attention was that part of New York State gets its water from this area. And I noticed that the cold water coming out of the faucet is a bit cloudy. I prefer to use a tap water filter than a jug water filter, my fridge isn't that big. I used to be able to get a PUR water filtration system and filters from my local CVS, but they didn't carry them anymore. The same happened with Costco in Manhattan. The last tap water filter system I found was at a small hardware store on Broadway off 105th Street. By using PUR I know the water is cleaner than straight from the tap.
