I have four L-Boxx (one 1A with compartments, three L-Boxx 2). Even though the picture shows an old/original L-Boxx, all four boxes were a new recycled box. Others have pointed out issues with the new design, but to sum it up, they've moved the attachment mechanism from the frame to the lid. This allows the user to open the box even if other boxes are attached to it. The old box couldn't do that. While this may seem like a plus to you, it comes with negative consequences. The frame is now thinner, flexes more and feels less solid. Also, the lid (which is less strong than the frame) and hinges (which are the box's weakest points in my opinion) become heavier, especially when opened with boxes/weight on top, which is the whole point of the redesign. My guess is that this will drastically reduce the lifespan of these boxes, which can be done specifically to encourage you to buy more. And potentially reducing production costs as well by making a thinner box with less material. I'm disappointed with the changes, but also with the listing. If you search for L-Boxx from 10/2019, L-Boxx-1 will be listed and pictured as a new design. L-Boxx-2 (with seller Bosch) is shown in the old design. I assumed that was correct since I just wanted the old design. The 1A box I bought is also shown in the old design, but also came in the new one. These boxes are quite expensive. Also, you have to pay another $20 to buy the foam when they are naked. For the price, I can't justify the drop in quality. I'll get mine back and look elsewhere for the old design. I hope it helps.
