Too bad the starts were negative. This transfer looked great once set up quick and easy. nope We have an Explorer and the bolts around the cross members are very long they almost touch the roof and we have a 2nd row glass roof so that didn't suit me. We bought a plastic tube from a hardware store to cover the bottom of the screws. Then the straps aren't long enough for a regular 10ft kayak, we only had a few inches to pull the strap down but we managed. Just in case, we've made "real" straps hook-to-hook across the top of both kayaks. This was a smart move as after about 3 hours of our trip one of the straps broke and we had to get extra good straps on the road and reattach the kayaks. We will come back as soon as we get home.
