I have had saddles and other J bars and was very excited about this product because it looked sturdy, folded away when not in use and had strap guides to secure the kayak. On first use we found that it was not possible to secure the kayak with feeder rails in the J-Bar and turned to a guide that made no mention of attempting to secure the kayak in this manner. I like dual use. It may have one or two kayaks. I've found that our ocean kayaks work best when they both face the same direction (one with the seat in and the other with the seats out). We used an extra strap to tie them together when they were up for extra stability. They stayed in moderate winds and 65 mph back and forth for an hour (with the help of a partner) and tie down both kayaks on top. It comes with easy-to-follow instructions. I ordered this kayak holder to match my 2021 Honda Pilot's BougeRV bars. The kayak holders were packed in a sturdy cardboard box and the two holders were enclosed in a thick plastic bag.
