Looks good but the handle is broken

I read the reviews including the negative ones but left most of the positive ones. Mine arrived well packaged and on time. A very nice step with some weight. But my pen arrived in 3 pieces. The handle has a center washer that holds the screw in place as it is tightened on the step. Therefore it could not be used. I've tried duct tape, but don't trust it, especially as the disc portion of the grip (similar to the ends of the upper stage cylinder) can fall to the ground while riding. Another thing I don't like is that the bar that the grip goes into isn't long enough (even with the hook on the middle bar in the receiver). I couldn't make the tiniest hole in the hitch as the cylinder tube presses against my car's bumper. The rod should be longer. Even in the middle it doesn't even reach 1/8 inch to the edge of the receiver. And I really want it to be the furthest grip for simplicity, but if it doesn't make the 2nd then obviously it doesn't make the end. 3rd hole and again I couldn't use the 1st because of my bumper. I have a Honda Ridgeline. It is very unstable, especially because the handlebar/bar is useless. But as others have said, at least it keeps people from doing it so people don't. I don't bump into you and the step is serviceable, just too close to the ground and I'm a female with only size 7-1/2 shoes. I'm hoping they AT LEAST replace the handle EXACTLY what I paid for and If I get rid of it, someone else might need it in the future.
