I bought a 150 amp breaker as backup protection for a circuit that was supposed to be no more than 100 amps. When the circuit was on, the switch would always get warm and click after a few minutes, even if no more than 90 amps were drawn. After extensive measurements and testing to ensure the current was under 100 amps, I replaced the breaker with a 100 amp fuse. The fuse has not blown after a long time. My guess is that the switch is either defective or it is in fact an 80 amp switch that was mislabeled.
