Not as advertised: Fuses and accessories

A 150 amp circuit breaker will not even take 120 amps. It tripped in about 6 seconds. Tried again and it started to fail, partially disconnected and then reconnected. Unfortunately, the return window for this item is "closed". I should have tried earlier I think. It's a cheap, sorry excuse for an electrical component. Don't throw away your money.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Fits perfectly with my solar system.

I needed a fuse and switch between my charge controller and my batteries in my solar panel. It does the work of both. It has a smaller profile than the bulky switch I had before, so it's not only functional, it's also attractive. I have the ability to quickly turn off the power for maintenance, plus protection from an overload fuse in a package that works well.

Circuit breaker trips at much lower current

I bought a 150 amp breaker as backup protection for a circuit that was supposed to be no more than 100 amps. When the circuit was on, the switch would always get warm and click after a few minutes, even if no more than 90 amps were drawn. After extensive measurements and testing to ensure the current was under 100 amps, I replaced the breaker with a 100 amp fuse. The fuse has not blown after a long time. My guess is that the switch is either defective or it is in fact an 80 amp switch that was…

Not suitable for marine use Electrically suitable

My electronics certifications? English major and financial adviser to Edward Jones. I know nothing about boat electronics, I just knew that I had to look to Revain for a 30 amp circuit breaker, my mate (who let me borrow his electric crab and shrimp puller) said to install it. I can't tell you how frustrating it is having to pull a heavy shrimp trap from 300ft with the breaker clicking every 5-10 seconds. The new Blue Sea Breaker works (Knock Wood) perfectly. It arrived on time, it has a cool…

Good device, with a small problem!

This circuit breaker was installed to protect the wiring from the battery. It is installed well and seems to work well for my project. Not great quality but good value for the price. One problem I've found is the hex head (Allen) set screws that hold the wires together when a 3mm hex tool is used to tighten them. My problem was that the 3mm tool didn't fit. I've tried 1/8 and 7/64 tools that are 3mm on both sides and neither worked. I suspect the coating on the set screws adds 0.05 to 0.10mm (2

They work there for a while

I have this in my car to power my stereo. The problem I have is that they are not suitable for high temperature operation. It is located next to the battery and is exposed to engine temperature. I haven't had any problems in the winter months, but as the ambient temperature rises they start to fail. I disassembled one that was not working and found that the contact had melted and become ineffective in delivering the correct voltage. Since the pins are still touching in this error state, it's…

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS INTERFERENCE SWITCH

I should have read the Revain reviews BEFORE I bought this 'thing' and put it in my RV's solar power system. I met her from YouTube videos. I actually have four in my system - two 80A on my solar controller: panels to controller and controller to batteries, 150A between batteries and 1000W inverter and 60A between batteries and generator. The system and these switches are only a month old. The 80A between the controller and the batteries has been tripped too many times to count. This line never
