O2 Sensor Confusion Explained!

There is a lot of confusion with O2 sensors! I have a Mercury Mariner 2008 v6 3.0. The photo shows the location of the banks. Bank 1 is where cylinder 1 is, which is behind bank 2, bank 2 is in front of the radiator. Going under the car the bank 2 sensor 2 is to the right of the oil filter and above that is the bank 2 sensor 1. Follow the exhaust pipe back to the bank 1 sensor 2 which is behind the oil box. but not far. Above this sensor is bank 1, sensor 1. Each bank has its own catalytic converter, so bank 2, sensor 2 is directly behind the catalytic converter and bank 2, sensor 1 is in front, same for bank 1, see my exploded picture, shows 2 catalytic converters ! However, each type of car with this engine, tow trucks, trucks and there are many, has a different combination of sensors. In my case, sensor 2 is downstream on both banks and of the same type, sensor 1 is of the same type. Sensor 2 - Bosch 15724, NTK 22500, Motorcraft 5l8z9g444a (DY1047). Sensor 1 in front of both rows, Bosch 15717, NTK 22060, Motorcraft 5l8z9g444f (DY1048). Don't listen to Revane, mostly it's wrong, it confuses them! You can see from my photos that cylinder #1 is on bank 1. I wrote where the front of the car is, so bank 2 is closest to the front of the car. Installed this sensor in my car to replace bank 2 sensor 1 as I had code P2270. There is no more code and never will be! Great purchase and my original O2 sensor was NTK like this not Bosch! This was written on my old O2 sensor so this is the closest OEM replacement you can find!
