I have had my 1999 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder for 2 years. My check engine light has been on since I bought it. I went to a shop and they said it was the ECU ($500), after 50 miles it came back. Then I went and bought an EGR modulator in the Autozone. ($50) changed and nothing. I then went to another shop where they said it was my EGR valve that was bad ($276) to have it changed and yet after 50 miles my check engine light came on again. Then about a month ago I did some research myself and found that the EGR or VSV vacuum solenoid was the cause. The heat will destroy every solenoid on your vehicle. I bought it from Revain and went to a new store, the store charged me $20 to replace it and the check engine light has gone out. Buy a part, change it. and avoid getting ripped off!
