Big! However, there are a few caveats.

Our 20 month old daughter loves this book. But as a parent, I think this book has three problems. turning thin pages in books, this particular book can be a bit tricky at first. The pages of this book are thin and made of smooth matte material. The pages can stand up to both baby's drooling and sticky fingers, but they're also a bit slippery for baby to turn the pages. When picking up or turning a page, it's very easy to touch objects on the edge of the page without even trying. Using tabs on the side can also be a problem. If the pages were a little thicker and the tabs were a little wider/longer, this book would be great. Second, each page is a separate category with different objects that toddlers can touch. Touching each object triggers the pronunciation of the word in English or Spanish. And this book is very touch sensitive - it can withstand even the gentlest touch of a baby, and this is a Trap-22. Because the objects on each side are close together, when the baby uses two fingers to touch one object, the baby can touch another object or multiple objects at the same time. So when she opens this book during the day, sometimes we need to remind her to touch one point at a time by guiding her hand (with her index finger) so that she doesn't touch multiple objects. Third, you should be aware that this book is quite loud, even on low settings. My husband tried covering the speaker with cardboard (haha!) but the sound comes through the holes on the back of the unit and the cardboard doesn't matter. After a few minutes, a low volume will sound almost the same as a high volume.
