I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't replace the defective resistor in my 2004 Silverado (1500 LS with dual-zone manual climate control) sooner. I couldn't use 5 to control the fan for several years and 4 was starting to get suspicious. I stumbled across this piece while looking at other pieces and couldn't believe the price. It was a quick swap, just removing the under passenger footwell cover, pulling out a few screws and unplugging the connectors. There's a video online of this process, but it's fairly easy to figure out, although a few picks for the connectors will come in handy as they're in a tight spot. The replacement is a modernized design from what I had and the burn marks on the original make me question my sanity that I've been sneaking up on 4 or 5 this whole time. I've waited a few months for trouble free service, before leaving a review and I am very happy.
