I installed this check valve because there was a problem with the Nissan Sentra that would not hold fuel pressure after the ignition was turned off (all fuel pressure was gone immediately). It turned out that the problem was in both the fuel line to the engine and the fuel line to the gas tank with the fuel pump, but this check valve really helped with acceleration problems where immediately releasing the accelerator pedal could cause a noticeable decrease in speed. That check valve helped in that regard, although the P0171 code was still present, possibly due in part to a loss of pressure in the fuel return line. As has been said a few times before, the closer you mount this check valve to the fuel pump, the better it will work. So the closer you mount it outside of the tank to the fuel going to the engine, the better the results.
