The mount is quite strong but flexes when I ride my 4ft FireStik down the road on a reinforced FireStik spring. I hope it doesn't break. But it seems strong enough that it doesn't happen. For the cable you will need to solder a connector to the side of the CB radio! There was no mention of this when I bought it, so I was annoyed at first. However, this makes it easier to run the cable through the firewall, so it worked. Luckily I can solder. Can't complain about the price and simplicity. Just use a 1/8" drill bit for the holes as the included screws are not suitable for threading metal. I installed it on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Limited. a flat and smooth place to mount it, otherwise nothing will work!
