Review on Intermatic IOS CMP DT LV Voltage Ceiling Sensor by Kirk Womack

This is a commercial in-wall switch with dual presence/absence sensors. It works great and appears to be well made. Dual PIR (passive infrared)/ultrasonic sensors are useful in rooms with partitions or where the line of sight required by traditional PIR may not be practical. Presence detection is accurate and precise. I installed it in my house (probably too much for a residential setting) and it only took a few minutes. It works great as advertised. The instructions are minimal but sufficient (although the print is a bit small in my opinion). The switch is easy to set up, probably more than adequate in a typical residential setting. You can set it to (1) home mode: auto on, auto off, (2) away mode: manual on, auto off, or (3) off mode: permanently off. In addition, there are two trimmers for the ambient light level and the sensitivity of the ultrasonic sensor (discrete, not continuous). There is also a DIP switch for various settings such as PIR sensitivity (50% or 100%), trigger mode (or both, PIR only, ultrasonic only), time delay and bypass mode. There are 8 possible discrete time delay values ranging from 15 seconds to 30 minutes. My only criticism of the switch is the use of pre-wired termination wires instead of screw terminals on the switch itself. Wire nuts are included but take up space in the light switch box (the switch is quite large). There is also a white decorative wall panel for 1 seater. Another small issue is that the DIP switch is not documented on the touch switch itself (understandably due to space constraints). Be sure to keep the manual for future reference. I would like the settings printed on a clear sticker so I can permanently place it behind the switch cover or somewhere nearby. All in all, this is a quality dual sensor occupancy/absence detector with many customizable options. options. It's easy to install and works great. Good product.
