You get what you pay for so understand that this is a cheap emergency radio. Everything works. The solar panel is only used to keep the battery charged and will not charge the radio at all. The only charge you get is a hand crank or mains connection. The SOS siren is loud, but not so loud that you can be heard at any distance in the forest. A flashlight is good to have.
