Gift steak knives come in a nice box but the knives themselves are impressive. They are made of one piece, have a perfect weight and an extremely sharp blade. I bought them because my last set got damaged in the dishwasher (water got between the blade and the handle - that can't happen with those). I know steak knives need to be hand washed, but I don't leave them lying around for hours without even opening the door. So far they've been in the dishwasher a few times and came out perfect. Carbon steel is good because it is scratch resistant. I think they will last for many years.
