Review on ๐ŸŒ€ Spiral Flush Trim Bits, TACKPRO Solid Carbide by Joshua Douglas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great router but you need to know where the cutting area is

I broke the first router they sent me but that was because I didn't quite understand what part of the router could be cut off. The top of the drill bit (the end that connects to the router bit) is solid cylindrical metal until you get to the point where a spiral flute begins to cut into the shank. This area cannot cut through wood. Only when you have moved a little further towards the end of the trunnion do you get to the actual cutting area of the drill. I didn't notice this and tried partially cutting the plywood with this non-cutting area. It took a lot of effort and eventually the racket broke. Now that I understand, my replacement head works great. I've seen a few people complain about broken attachments, and I wonder if they did the same as me. Prior to this drill, I used a 1/2" straight drill bit. A lot more work to push it through and the cut was pretty rough as a result. Lots of grinding required. With this twist drill, the cut is as smooth as glass.

Pros
  • Industrial grade router
Cons
  • No instructions
