Review on Complete Portion Control Container System - 14 Pieces With A 21-Day Plan by Prentice Fossett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Colorful brain-training to internalize portion awareness

I have wayyy too many tiny orange containers now (8 in first set, 8 in second), but finally enough Protein containers for a full day's allotment. These really do help train me to visualize the right serving size, especially getting enough protein and being careful with carbs (2.5 cups/day is not a lot!). The colors are nice and the lids snap on well (and have two thumb slots to help you open them, which means less searching for the right corner); haven't tested if they're leakproof. Being plastic, they can be harder to clean if you use them for greasy food, but that's just more of a reminder to reduce the grease/oil. They seem sturdy, stack well, do their job, and fit inside each other to store in a smaller space. Suggest getting a few basic lunch containers / bento boxes, then make a meal, stuff it in these containers, and transfer the right servings to each bento box, like an assembly line. The only annoyance so far is having to wash so many little boxes once I'm done! But I also leave a lot of the larger boxes in the fridge to grab whenever I want more veggies, fruit, or protein, and it's easy to keep a handle on just how much I've been snacking.

Pros
  • These are made very well!
Cons
  • The 21-day plan may not be flexible enough for individuals with changing schedules
