I bought these for my girlfriend who uses them for dragon boat competitions and training and they work exactly as described! She uses them with a carbon paddle which gets very slippery when wet and she had no trouble holding the paddle. She also said she noticed how they actually protected her hands from calluses and blisters, which is great too. The reason the gloves are now only four stars instead of five is because the tips of the gloves are a bit short and rough on each finger. So when she grabs the paddle, the gloves tend to rub against that part.
