I read the instructions and realized that this is exactly what I needed, a meat thermometer. If you want to measure the temperature of the oven, use something else, otherwise you will destroy the sensor. The cable may be rated for the oven temperature, but the sensor itself is not. It works for me and the paging feature allows me to do something in another room and still hear the temperature reaching alarm. Before I got it, I burned a lot of food and had to air the house after the smoke alarms went off. After I received it, the food survived. In my opinion, the only way to improve is to add a cooling function so that the user knows when the object to be cooled reaches the set temperature.
