Good idea in theory, but in practice everything worked differently. After trying hard to remove the OEM insert, I found that the ends of the original insert were blocked by the mold. This prevents the metal slats from slipping out on both sides of the insert. Presumably the "cut-to-fit" insert does not have this function. The metal ribs slide out freely. After installing the first blade, I left the second one alone. Although the new insert didn't slip out when I first tried the wiper, I fully expected it to come out the moment I needed it. It's not worth it. Buy an OEM or OEM-like version that fixes the metal fin.
