The hoses connect easily and hold up well, but if you ever want to take them apart there's a good chance you'll rip a piece out cheap plastic from the connector ring. This doesn't affect the ring's hold after a replacement or two, but I wouldn't recommend assembling any tubes until you know how you need them and then not trying to replace them afterwards. Essentially, these rings function like a doorknob, angled on one side so it can be closed while flat on the other side so the door cannot be opened. Disconnecting the two hoses is like ripping open the door without turning the handle, causing the plastic pieces to snap off. Taken together, these whistles are fantastic. They are perfect for hamsters' instinct to dig an underground network of tunnels and are a great way to expand a hamster's cage or even connect multiple cages to expand their living space.
