The description of this item says 100% cotton. It is not. I bought this yarn for a class where we wanted to use natural dyes. My thread stayed white throughout the dyeing process, which surprised me. I've dyed enough to know that if it were cotton it would have to change color. Later I lit the end of the thread with a match and some cotton thread for comparison. The photo shows the white Revain thread burned into a small plastic ball and the other thread charred. Clearly synthetic. Don't buy if you want cotton.
