Works for me: Tools and equipment

I didn't know which EVSE to choose as a newbie in the world of electric vehicles. At first I thought I would fail if I could get anything under 32 amps, but this works fine for me. My Fiat 500e can handle more amps, but this device charges it from zero to full in 6.5 hours. It's fast enough for my use. The decision to use the 16 amp model was dictated by the wiring in my house. I don't have a very large box so I was lucky enough to find an abandoned 240 amp circuit that was once used for an AC unit. Unfortunately it was only connected with 12 gauge wire so that really did the trick for me. I didn't feel comfortable running electricity through this cable. My complaints are minor. This is a portable EVSE that doesn't hang on the wall that well. It only has one hole to hang it on a nail. I think I could tie it to something to make it more permanent, but I don't mind that much. Second, I would like the cord from the device to the car plug to be longer so I don't have to take the device off the wall if I park too far from the garage. So far the device works perfectly. I love the accessories that come with it. The charging handle holster works reasonably well and the hook keeps the cord off the ground. I haven't used a 120 volt device, but it's nice that it can do both. I didn't need a tote bag either, but it's good that I have one.
