
The photos I post show a grain of salt. Behind it is textured aluminum, which serves as a base plate. The field of view is flat, but the focus is very easy to adjust. There are three light sources and it is usually not necessary to use all of them. Because it looks at things head-on, you don't need slides like you would with old-school microscopes. Just put it below, it's all very simple. It is USB powered and appears to have a battery. Overall very happy with the performance.
