A little upset when I first plugged it in. I'm sitting on a pair of Paradigm Studio 60 speakers that I bought in 2001. Initially, I had a hard time hearing anything close to what the Atmos speakers were supposed to deliver. I drive through the receiver Onkyo TX-NR777. Ran the Accu-EQ setup and still not very impressed. I then found a setting in the speaker section of the "Dolby Enhanced Speaker" setting. This allowed us to adjust the distance from the speaker to the ceiling. Once tuned to my measurements, it opened up a whole new dimension to the sound. Now the helicopters sound like they are overhead, the movie Gravity sounds amazing and I am very happy with this purchase. I don't know of any receivers other than Onkyo, but if you don't like the sound, you may be missing an adjustment. Wait patiently for them to hit the $300 mark again and they're worth every penny.
