I was looking for an alternative to the traditional julienner for chopping tougher root vegetables (e.g. Asian radish). Well, first touches worked fine, but then it quickly got stuck and I couldn't get it off without cleaning it. As a result, cooking julienne with this device required more effort and more time. So for firmer vegetables, it may be best to stick with traditional julienne, especially if you have a lot of julienne cutting to do. Otherwise, for small quick jobs or for softer veggies, this works well.
