memory foam. It's been 3 days of flipping, rocking, etc, and while it's getting bigger, it doesn't carry a normal sized adult (or even a small one). I'm not even sure if a bigger one will do. The material should lie completely flat when sitting. Probably the whole reason such chairs started using beans in the first place. So yes, it's going to be huge and taking up all the space, but I can only imagine a child being able to use it properly when filled with foam like that, because adults with such soft material just get crushed in one fell swoop .
