I fix my cars a lot and am a bit of a shade tree mechanic for my family and neighbors. So using my old twenty dollar scanner didn't help. I upgraded to bluetooth which worked with my phone but even then it was very limited. So I needed something much more robust and able to do much deeper things. Unfortunately most tools of this type cost over 1000 and I didn't want to afford something like that as I only help people and not a professional at all. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the wealth of features it has and how deep it can go. The auto support is also very extensive! In any case, about the pros and cons. Pros: - Great value for all the features you get. - It's wireless, which I really like, and has a significant range. - The car index is huge. It has worked on everything from my BMW to my Jeep, including many vehicles I've tried it on. Very nice layout and premium feeling. - Lots of cool accessories to buy (thermal gun, battery tester, printer, etc.) Cons: - While far from those 1k+ scanners, it's still a significant investment. - Accessories are insanely expensive. A thermal sight is more than twice the price of this device. The guide is lackluster but fairly clear. All in all a must have for anyone working or tinkering on their car. The only feature this device doesn't have is cloning or adding keys. More often than not, however, this is done with specific routes that require nothing more to add than pressing some weird buttons.
