Short version: This phone can kill someone and it still works when you smack into hell. Working in electrical engineering in the factory. I've had my cell phone for about a month. That's great. I dropped it on purpose to test its durability. Minor abrasions on body compared to peers dealing with broken screens and broken phones. The Gorilla Glass screen rubs heavily when first used. After about a week of use, it will be easier to move. I don't stream videos, just texts, calls: the basics. The battery lasts about a week on a full charge. Some apps kept crashing when I first got them, applied a 100MB update and it hasn't happened since. I have a 16GB/month prepaid Verizon, signal is usually good but still decent in places where other people's phones have no signal and you can't get wifi 30 feet away. It's good. In terms of technical characteristics, this thing is on an average level. 4GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor something. Works smoothly. good enough for me 64 GB of internal storage, there is a 128 GB microSD card; 192 GB memory is enough for me for a long time. The old microSD was 1GB so I don't know what to do with all that storage. The update gives you Android Pie. I think this thing will remain relevant and useful until they abandon 4G networks. Will take a long time. Disadvantages - weight and price. It weighs over half a pound and my thumbs hurt if I text too much. That's several hundred dollars more expensive than phones with similar specs. If you're one of those rare people who has never dropped or damaged a phone, its durability is worth nothing. Another alternative I considered was another CAT phone, the S41. It's advertised to be around 25% lighter or less, with good battery life, but with 2GB of RAM; new programs get bogged down much earlier in this phone. I think it was made in 2016, 2017 so it's been a few years now. I might suggest it as an alternative, depending on preference. CAT S61 is also good. My buddy showed me this and it got me looking for safe phones. Too heavy and bulky for me. If they come out with an S42 in the future that performs as well or better than this one at a similar or lower price I would go for it. Technology enthusiasts should not apply. Right now, the latest $3,000 Samsung Galaxy phone has 1TB of storage, 12GB of RAM (as good or better than the computer I use!) and a camera that captures the ant's subtle gestures so you can see inside can little heart, awww! a mile from here. At night. This phone is also a poor choice if you need buttons. *sigh* Yes. There are no buttons. Last but not least, it is made in China. i just saw Damn. Because of this I changed it to 9 out of 10.
