Image does not accurately reflect this step. It's a powerful, well-built movement. The clever design allows you to adjust the height while keeping the step level with the floor. My Ranger wasn't on the list of compatible cars but I bought it anyway thinking I'd modify it in some way. Lots of adapters are included so fitting it to my truck was pretty easy. I highly recommend installing the additional frame reinforcement that comes with the kit. They were easy to add, but they add a lot more power. I'm only giving it 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1: You forgot to drill 1 of the 2 mounting holes in the bracket. 2: Choosing sheet metal screws instead of #12 mounting screws at the top of the bracket was a poor choice. Installation took about 5 hours in total - some of them running back and forth to the basement for tools. Take your time and get the first one just right, then the other side will go smoothly.
