A big improvement over my old Logitech

Bought to replace my old Logitech C210 webcam. This Amcrest camera plugged into my monitor and was a simple plug and play install with Windows 10. There were no special drivers or anything to get it working and the cable was more than long enough to run from to reach my monitor up to the tower on a stand. next to my table. Image quality is quite good when the room is well lit. There are three lamps in my office, but not the brightest. Image quality can get a bit grainy in dark areas of the room. I tried the camera in another part of the house where it was brighter and the picture was good. Autofocus works well to follow your face when using Windows 10's built-in camera software. I've used it with Skype and Zoom and the camera worked flawlessly. I had no problems with sound or picture. Zoom limits video quality to 720p. The camera has a field of view of 65 degrees, but it seems to me that it is wider. It's definitely wider than my Logitech camera. I really like the light on the front of the camera: blue when in use and red when not in use. The best feature is probably the sliding privacy cover, which allows you to close the lens so the camera can't see anything. I usually keep it closed except when I'm using it. For me that's a big plus. I know there are better quality webcams out there, but they come at a much higher price. For the price, this Amcrest webcam does more than its job and I'm happy with my purchase.
