OPTIMUM charges an exorbitant $10 per month rent. Items arrived within 5 days of ordering via USPS. connected them with the help of OPTIMUM technical support. and works as fast as possible. there is no significant difference in internet speed with the arris tm1602 modems supplied by the company. In fact, a download and upload speed test run on my Wi-Fi connected phone using the Speedtest app showed slightly increased speeds. Connected to cable voice service with no problems (some have reported problems with voice communication with non-company modems). In nine months I would have recouped the cost of the modems and started saving money. Before ordering them from DOCSIS, I ordered replacement modems from GoldenGateWholesale, only to find out after installation that the modems they were selling me were OPTIMUM-owned modems (OPTIMUM keeps track of all their modem CMAC addresses in one file) and I lost nearly $200 and a week wasted time. I got my payment back but couldn't get back the lost time. I have also written to AMAZON to find out that one of their sellers is selling inappropriate items on their site, but at the time of this writing, GGW is still confidently selling modems on AMAZON.buy from DOCSIS. (Of course, after my first experience with another company, I asked OPTIMUM to run the CMAC addresses of their modems to make sure they didn't belong to OPTIMUM).
