This is actually our second digital spatula thermometer that we own. The first one was actually bought in Switzerland, it worked fine until there were a few instances of water immersion. For the first time I managed to disassemble the top radio and clean the circuit board. I was unlucky the second time and it wouldn't start. So, I searched for Revane and here he is! I'm telling you this story so you know how to keep your main unit in the water. It worked great other times, some reviews say the temp was off, but our thermometer worked just as well as a candy jar thermometer for making caramel and toffee. and to clean, we just take it out of the spatula, put the spatula in the dishwasher, and wipe the temperature sensor. FYI the spatula started to tarnish after being washed in the dishwasher but still works fine. I recommend hand washing if you want to prevent the color from fading. After removing it from the spatula, we even used it as a meat thermometer! There may be other uses, but be careful, the tip of the temperature sensor is pointed!
