Soft rubber tip won't cut gums

I went to the cleaning after one of my flossing episodes when you know something is in your teeth but can remove it. And you're flossing your teeth so much your gums are bleeding. The hygienist said to try these picks if that happens. I have made. Now I use toothpicks every time I floss and never cut my gums! The best thing is that I get all the junk with Thread. It just seems to me that as I get older there are more gaps between my teeth which has required the help of my dental floss. I never worry about cutting my gums with these picks!
