My little dachshund likes to keep warm. I have a back warmer on the couch. My dog has always slept on my lap under the covers. After buying it, my dog sleeps in his bed almost all the time. It's quite big, it fits in her big dog bed (she thinks she's a big dog, but she's really just a bed pig!) It stays on 24/7 and is a nice comfortable temperature. So comfortable my senior cat sometimes climbs into bed to sleep. I don't know if it's chewable as my dog is old and doesn't chew. But it cleans very easily. My only complaint is that the dark blue makes my small black dog difficult to see.
