I use the Food Saver 3620 to make larger bags to separate 28 pounds of fine dry pet food into 3 pound bags. The packets end up being about 10-12 inches long. These bags initially created the correct vacuum and seal, but failed to seal for 24 hours. To try and find a way to make them work better I tried two methods. ) Traditional method: seal one side, fill food, vacuum and seal the other side. 6 out of 8 bags could not be closed overnight. 2) Double sealing method: seal one side in 2 places 3/4" apart, fill with food, vacuum and seal the other side, then seal a second time between the original seal and the end of the bag. 5 of 8 Bags were not sealed.
