I bought this for my husband as a birthday present. He was excited as he had wanted this knife for a long time after reading all the great reviews. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly dissipated after he opened the package. There was some kind of glue, rust and scratches all over the edge of the knife. In addition, the blade was unevenly sharpened. My husband was disappointed to say the least. To update. The seller has shown exceptional customer service after learning about the above issue. Unfortunately, the replacement blade also contained glue residue and slight rust along the shaft. It wasn't as noticeable as the first knife, but it was there and it took some work and effort to remove. Some residual rust spots are still present. The knife is sheathed, which I think is a problem. My best guess is that the sheath's glue is either damaged or still wet when the knife is put in, causing it to seep onto the blade. The glue must be caustic as it will rust the blade wherever it makes contact. It's a shame, because otherwise it's a nice and well-balanced knife. Four stars for excellent customer service.
