In the past I've only ever bought high quality (and budget) beats from reputable brands we've all heard of. I've tried more than enough parts over the years and have needed a few of these for multiple furniture and furniture projects. As a try, I bought a set of Kowood bits over the winter and found them to do a good job and were generally good value. Shortly thereafter I realized I needed new sheet piling and assumed (I know) that the Kowood sheet piling would also be of the same quality. I ordered this racquet in January but have not used it to date (end of March) - well past the return deadline. I noticed my mistake but figured I only need 20 LM of poplar so don't worry even the cheapest pieces can make 24 LM right? I'm not too proud to admit I was wrong. After 9 linear feet (3 feet on the scrap to zero on average and 6 feet on the workpiece) I felt the bat give way and saw a tiny bit fly away (thankfully no one was around). I've blunted many drill bits over the years, but I've never seen such a break on a very high quality piece of wood at a very conservative feed rate. I thought it must have been an accident but then I read some of the reviews posted here with similar experiences. We can't all be wrong so I would advise anyone looking into the sheet pile market to stay away from this one. I really hoped that Kowood would change the game. It would be great to have comparable quality products at a lower price. In the end I got less than what I paid for. I will stop buying cheap beats and will not wait to use what I order online. Lesson learned.
